My new project is finally up. This is the blog where I will be going forward with posting AS2/AS3 source/classes/etc. Like I mentioned before, this blog will be up for legacy purposes but all source/classes will also be available on the new EVOLVE with a ton more stuff. Go check it out as I’ve already started posting stuff on there that was never posted on here.

I just moved this blog over to a new MT account to help facilitate some of the other stuff I’ll be working on. More to come soon, sorry for the downtime!

So I’ve contemplated lately about the direction of this blog and what to do with it. I’ve decided to leave it for legacy purposes for anyone that may need stuff off of here, but I’m going to pursue another blog that I think is going to be better for the community. I’ll post here when it’s done to notify everyone to start going there, but as for this blog, I’m not opposed to writing more in it, just don’t know if anyone actually reads it. When I check my stats it isn’t overwhelming by any means and I just don’t know if there is much of a point in updating this.
If you want your voice to be heard and you want me to continue writing this blog, please post in the comments below.
Just a fair word of warning: The new blog will be all AS based (source code, classes, more hands-on, etc) so let me know what you’d rather see, this or the new blog. If nobody responds then I’ll just stop posting all together and take up a new hobby, probably horse-back riding.

One of my co-workers turned me on to what will quickly become one of the most useful Mac apps I’ve ever installed. A little FREEWARE utility called Teleport which allows you to share Macs over a network so that you can use one keyboard/mouse with two or more computers. It’s very easy to install and all you do is configure some preferences. I had it up and running in no time. It really helps here at work because I use my personal laptop for IMing and my work computer for work obviously and I was always having to go left and right between the two to type on the keyboards. Now I just hold down CMD and move my mouse to the left of my work screen and I hop over to my personal computer with just a look to the left. It’s super useful and I wish I would have found this over a year and a half ago when I started here. Thanks Andrew.

I’ve been reading about reblogging lately and I realized that’s basically all I do on this blog. I’m going to stop doing that as there is a 100 different places where you can find the same information. That being said, my posts will probably slow down here while I figure out new content to post up. I already have one idea but it needs to be developed a bit more and I need some time to put it together. As usual, stay tuned to see what’s coming up and don’t get upset if I don’t post every day.
On a side note, Flight of the Conchords is an awesome show that I just started watching. Carry on.

One of my pet peeves on Mac OSX was that it didn’t display the full date in the menu bar. I had a piece of software installed called iMenuCalendarClock which put a little calendar with the date on my menu bar, but I don’t think that you should have to install software just to display the date… I did a bit of poking around and found this article which tells you how to do it in a cut up but working fashion. I then took off the option for display day of week in the clock preferences, and now my date looks like this:

I’m not sure how I missed this, but apparently I did almost over a year ago, and SWFAddress is a deeplinking tool for Flash. I haven’t used it as I’ve obviously just discovered it, but it seems very easy to use and looks pretty handy from the example source.

In the spirit of Big Spaceship and their optimization tips and tricks for Flash, Fantasy Interactive has posted some of their own. The first post is here and the second is here.

Sean Moore made a blog post about 10 new Flex and AIR books coming out in 2008 and the fall of 2007 to watch for. If you fancy that sort of thing, this is your post!
